CSI-Future

CSI-Future investigates joint communication and sensing based on the interpretation of Channel State Information in next-generation wireless networks. The project combines measurement campaigns, statistical analysis, AI/ML, and protocol design to understand how environmental information is embedded in the signal and how that information can be used in controlled ways.

Its cybersecurity relevance is explicit: CSI-based sensing creates powerful application opportunities, but it also raises serious privacy, safety, and abuse concerns. The project therefore looks not only at better sensing performance, but also at mechanisms for authorised sensing and protection against misuse and attacks.
